I can see where you’re getting that impression from however. The male figure is very dominantly placed over the female one. That wasn’t really intentional…and therefore possibly a ‘mistake’…as I mentioned on Friday my original idea was for a painting quite different, so perhaps I shall return to the subject again quite soon and see if I can capture some of the tenderness I wanted…there’s a kind of beauty and the beast effect I’m after I suppose…

Don’t worry about not liking it Penny, if it moved you…albeit in a disturbing way, I’ll take that as a good thing. It’s definitely the kind of painting that needs to provoke an emotional response and the ‘desperate’ element is certainly something I was trying to get in there…:)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552237507162302897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6902272894835579097.post-48027485291976749342009-02-08T17:46:00.000+00:002009-02-08T17:46:00.000+00:00I think it's good, but I dont like it, (sorry) I f...I think it's good, but I dont like it, (sorry) I find it disturbing,I am drawn towards the 2 hands holding each other, feels kind of desperate.
Thanks for showing us!
Penny.natural attrillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11932782598258944332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6902272894835579097.post-75494449964576425462009-02-06T16:01:00.000+00:002009-02-06T16:01:00.000+00:00Hmm....its a brilliant painting...am I the only on...Hmm....its a brilliant painting...am I the only one to see violence in it some how? It seems very raw and challenging. Maybe thats just me. I think it’s shaping up to be a very effect way of presenting a narrative…Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552237507162302897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6902272894835579097.post-9115013964708941692009-02-05T21:52:00.000+00:002009-02-05T21:52:00.000+00:00Well you have got Spencer's sexuality but I think ...Well you have got Spencer's sexuality but I think it had a rhythm like Les Demoiselles d'Avignon by Picasso.Lornahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01314427507584427965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6902272894835579097.post-11648083605200875782009-02-05T21:42:00.000+00:002009-02-05T21:42:00.000+00:00You’d think that would be very noticeable wouldn’t...You’d think that would be very noticeable wouldn’t you…lolAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552237507162302897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6902272894835579097.post-2720635138736094052009-02-05T21:39:00.000+00:002009-02-05T21:39:00.000+00:00No one can see the hand groping the breast in the ...No one can see the hand groping the breast in the middle?Lornahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01314427507584427965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6902272894835579097.post-24747703914146475382009-02-05T20:54:00.000+00:002009-02-05T20:54:00.000+00:00Someone else came around and looked at this today ...Someone else came around and looked at this today and also couldn't tell what it was...so no need to blush Lorna, clearly this piece is only readable by those in the know ;)...
