It is a simple . idyllic setting and not wildly dramatic as a painting… a nice quiet picture you might say… In general I tend to put the “blood” into the oils – at least in terms of meaning…I’ve only fairly recently started doing these watercolour landscapes, which I actually find quite relaxing to do…So I suppose I do a lot of them (this one in particular) just to unwind, rather than make a great statement to the world…Perhaps I need to do a few when I’m not just in need of relaxation…:)

And Sue, if you can pay me £250 a day, I’ll come and paint your backgrounds…;)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05552237507162302897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6902272894835579097.post-51613303849252447922007-06-13T13:02:00.000+01:002007-06-13T13:02:00.000+01:00I think painting days out are a good idea. However, at the risk of sounding mean, your picture is a little twee.

Maybe it's about time you challenged yourself a little more and tried putting your heart and soul into something. Bleed onto the canvas a bit!

Your pictures are good, but where's the voice of the artist.
