Started on the watercolour tonight, took a while for the masking fluid to dry, so didn't get that much done. I'm quite pleased with it so far. It's doing to be tricky balancing the accuracy needed for the tower and boat with the
looseness i want in the water and sky...I probably won't do much more with the water and sky, but I'll have to wait until the rest is in and the masking fluid comes off, to see exactly how much balancing needs to be done...

Thats looking really great. I would be scared to add anything to the water or sky for fear of overdoing...(something that I do quite a bit I must admit) so my vote is they look just right.
Glad you picked a vertical aspect...it gives the architecture in the painting much more presence.

I PROBABLY won’t do much to them…Although the picture’s doing everything I was expecting it to….I don’t really like it that much…having to paint the tower and boat reasonably accurately has limited the flow of the paint, and that’s one of the things I like about the watercolours I’ve done…as I’ve painted the tower and boat, they just look like anyone could have painted it…so you never know, I might go mad and paint the sky bright green to liven it up…but I doubt it ;)
