Can't think of a title, but here's a picture :)

Painting days are a bit all over the place this week, but here’s today’s effort. This is the barn on the right hand side of the road as you drive towards Burford. It looks like builders are about to move in and turn it into a house, so I thought I’d have a go at it before it changed or got hidden from view.

Am really pleased with the way the watercolours are going at the moment, the uniqueness of the style is getting stronger and I’m increasingly pushing the painting further away from the source material…well that’s the aim anyway :)

Graham these are really good but please note that something can't be more or less unique... it either is or it isn't, the word cannot be qualified.

That’s the wonderful thing about painting, you can ignore all the rules and conventions and make something more, or less unique…you can do anything in art…if not English :)

Perhaps ‘individuality’ would be a better word for it. Either way, they’re looking less like anyone else’s work and more like something only my warped mind could have dreamt up…Which is what I’m aiming for :)

Hope you and Lucy are well, take care G

We call that bit of the road "Top of the World" because of the view.

Well there is certainly an individual style emerging in these watercolours (semantics aside) ;-) You have so many things on the go....I can't keep up with your fruit & veg, oil portraits and now these !!! Versatility is good. Can't resisit this quote though...“Try as hard as we may for perfection, the net result of our labors is an amazing variety of imperfectness. We are surprised at our own versatility in being able to fail in so many different ways.”

Samuel Crowthers.

Now thats me being plain cheeky.

Lol, I think I’ll take the comment on variety as a compliment ;) I keep meaning to get back to the Fennel…and then in turn the Jack painting, but the watercolours have been developing well…and they’re nice and quick (relatively speaking) so I’m running with those atm…that said, who knows what I’ll work on this week :)
