Floating Pears - 3 paintings - Drawing stage

A variety of odd jobs to do today, the first of which was getting these ‘Floating Pears’ drawn up on canvases. They’re intended to all be individual pieces, but I’ve composed them so they work as a triptych as well…seemed like a good idea at the time.

Also, my Linocut ‘Floating’ (the couple in the boat) got into the Little Xmas Art Competition. You can see all the shortlisted artists on the OXART website. Sue Cook, Sue Templeman and Jane Tomlinson also got through the first round, so the Eynsham Art Group is very well represented. Good luck to all :)

I like them just as they are in that photo.

I think I’d be doing very well to sell them in this early state…but thank you very much Susan :) I think I’ve captured the weight of them in this drawing stage…I played around with the placement for an alarmingly long time in fact…the first sketches looked all wrong, as if the pears were stuck on, rather than floating in space…and the ‘simple’ backgrounds were anything but… lol….but these are the first attempts, so things are bound to take longer…hopefully this weeks painting session with see some progress on these :)
