and then there was a rhino...

Got some paint onto the rhino figure this afternoon. Re-drew him quite a bit while I was at it...the hybrid human/animal look is working well I think and I'm starting to see some of those interesting lines I get so excited about, so all in all a positive session :)

I like the composition here, and so I'm looking forward to seeing the box bit which (judging by the sketch) holds it all together.

This is shaping up to be one of the best paintings I have seen you produce in a long time. Just remember us little people when you in the Tate....

Thank you both :) No painting today alas, as I’ve been overrun with kids for Jack birthday party, still, good fun was had by all…

I need to paint the tiger next and then onto the box…it’s making an interesting change to paint a picture that isn’t intended to be ‘nice’ to look at…it’s rather a strange concept to paint something intended to be disturbing…I used to do a lot of stuff like that when I was younger…but that was a long time ago ;)

At some point I’ll write a little bit about how I’ve arrived at the compositions for this one and the last (Golden Key) painting…it’s not a method I’ve used before, but seems to be producing some interesting results…:)
